In May 2013, Australian comedian Judith Lucy visited the Kapchorwa, Katakwi and Kween districts of eastern Uganda to learn more about FGC and issues of women’s rights. In her new role as ambassador for ActionAid Australia, Judith will raise awareness and generate financial support from Australia to fund ActionAid programs that promote women’s empowerment in Uganda.
